Your Next 24 Months, Scanned Month by Month

Anvaya's forward scanner checks every month of the next 2 years against your natal chart — identifying double transit windows, favorable houses, and degree-level planetary contacts.

What the Forward Scanner Does

Every month, the planets move. Jupiter advances roughly one degree. Saturn advances about half a degree. Rahu and Ketu shift backward through the zodiac. These movements are not abstract astronomy — they interact with YOUR natal chart in specific, computable ways.

Anvaya's forward transit scanner examines each of the next 24 months and asks a simple question: what is happening in the sky this month, and how does it contact your birth chart? The result is a month-by-month map of upcoming planetary weather, personalized to your exact chart — not your sun sign, not your moon sign, but your complete natal configuration.

This is fundamentally different from the "monthly horoscope" you find in magazines or apps. Those are written for one-twelfth of the human population based on a single factor. The forward scanner computes transits against all nine natal planets, all twelve house cusps, and multiple divisional chart positions. The resolution difference is like comparing a weather forecast for "the Northern Hemisphere" to a forecast for your specific street address.

Double Transit Theory

The backbone of the forward scanner is Double Transit Theory, a principle articulated by PVR Narasimha Rao and rooted in classical Parashari astrology. The theory states:

When BOTH Jupiter AND Saturn aspect the same house simultaneously, events related to that house are triggered.

Jupiter is the planet of expansion, opportunity, and blessings. Saturn is the planet of manifestation, crystallization, and real-world results. Jupiter alone creates potential; Saturn alone creates pressure. When both focus on the same house at the same time, potential meets manifestation — and events happen.

This is not a minor astrological principle. It is one of the most reliable transit-based prediction tools in Vedic astrology. BV Raman discusses it extensively. Narasimha Rao formalized it into a systematic method. And our engine applies it computationally: for each of the next 24 months, we check whether Jupiter and Saturn are both aspecting any of your 12 houses (through direct placement or classical aspects — Jupiter aspects the 5th, 7th, and 9th houses from itself; Saturn aspects the 3rd, 7th, and 10th).

When a double transit is detected, the scanner assigns a +0.4 confidence boost to that house's event potential. This is a significant signal — in our scoring system, +0.4 is the single largest transit-based confidence contributor.

The BPHS Gochar Rules

Beyond double transit theory, the scanner applies the classical Gochar (transit) rules from BPHS Chapter 65. These rules specify which transit positions are favorable and unfavorable relative to your natal Moon:

Jupiter produces good results when transiting the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th houses from your natal Moon. These are the houses of wealth (2nd), intelligence/children (5th), partnerships (7th), fortune (9th), and gains (11th). Jupiter's transit through these houses expands the themes of each house.

Saturn produces good results when transiting the 3rd, 6th, and 11th houses from your natal Moon. These are the houses of courage (3rd), overcoming enemies (6th), and gains (11th). Saturn in these positions channels its restrictive energy productively — it toughens you in the 3rd, defeats obstacles in the 6th, and delivers earned rewards in the 11th.

The scanner checks these Gochar positions for every month and adds favorable transit house bonuses to the month's overall score. A month where Jupiter is in a favorable Gochar position AND participating in a double transit is significantly more potent than a month with only one of these factors.

Confidence Scoring

Each month receives a composite confidence score built from multiple transit factors:

  • Double transit detected: +0.4
  • Slow planet conjunction with natal planet (Saturn, Jupiter, or nodes within 3 degrees of a natal planet): +0.25
  • Favorable Gochar position (Jupiter or Saturn in classically favorable houses from Moon): variable, +0.1 to +0.2 depending on the specific house
  • Dasha-transit alignment (the active dasha lord's natal position is being transited): +0.15
  • Node transit over ascendant axis (Rahu or Ketu crossing your 1st/7th house cusp): +0.15

These scores accumulate. A month can score anywhere from 0.0 (no significant transits) to 0.8+ (multiple powerful transits converging). In practice, most months score between 0.1 and 0.4. Months scoring above 0.5 are flagged as high-activity windows.

Window Merging

Life events don't respect calendar boundaries. A career promotion might unfold over three months: the opportunity appearing in month one, the negotiation in month two, the formal transition in month three.

When the scanner detects consecutive high-scoring months for the same life domain, it merges them into a single window with a combined confidence score. For example:

  • October 2026: career score 0.45 (Jupiter double transit on 10th house)
  • November 2026: career score 0.52 (Saturn adds conjunction to natal 10th lord)
  • December 2026: career score 0.38 (Jupiter still in favorable Gochar position)
  • January 2027: career score 0.48 (dasha-transit alignment adds to existing double transit)
  • February 2027: career score 0.31 (transit begins to separate)

The scanner merges these into: "Career window: October 2026 - February 2027 (peak confidence 0.78)." The peak confidence is the highest single-month score within the window, ensuring the output reflects the strongest signal.

Example Output

Here is what a Pro-tier forward scanner output looks like for a hypothetical chart:

Career Window: October 2026 - February 2027 (confidence 0.78) Jupiter transiting your 10th house while Saturn aspects from the 4th. Double transit on the house of career. Dasha alignment: current Mercury Antardasha rules your 10th house. Five months of sustained career activation — strongest single window in the 24-month scan.

Wealth Window: March 2027 - May 2027 (confidence 0.62) Jupiter enters favorable Gochar position (2nd from Moon) while Saturn aspects the 11th house of gains. No double transit, but slow planet conjunction with natal Venus (wealth significator) at 14 degrees. Income boost or investment opportunity likely.

Relationship Window: August 2027 - October 2027 (confidence 0.55) Rahu-Ketu transit crosses the 1st-7th house axis. Jupiter aspects the 7th house from the 3rd. Dasha sub-period of Venus (relationship karaka) active. Window for new relationship initiation or significant evolution in existing partnership.

Notice what this is NOT: it is not "Libras will find love in August." It is a computation specific to one person's natal chart, citing specific planetary positions, specific house activations, and a numerical confidence score.

Dasha-Transit Integration

The forward scanner becomes most powerful when combined with dasha analysis. A transit window during a favorable dasha period produces the highest confidence predictions. A transit window during an unfavorable dasha produces mixed signals — the opportunity may appear but the native may not be positioned to capitalize on it.

The engine cross-references the active Mahadasha and Antardasha with each month's transit score. When the dasha lord's significations align with the transit theme (for example, a Venus dasha during a 7th-house transit window), the confidence score receives an additional boost. When they conflict (Saturn dasha during a Jupiter-driven expansion window), the engine flags the ambiguity and presents both the opportunity and the potential resistance.

This integration is why the forward scanner is not just a transit calculator. Transit calculators exist everywhere — they show you where Jupiter is and where Saturn is. What they don't do is combine that information with your dasha timeline, your natal chart's specific sensitivities, and a confidence-scoring framework that tells you how much weight to give each signal.

Why 24 Months

The 24-month window is not arbitrary. It is calibrated to Jupiter's transit cycle.

Jupiter takes approximately 12 months to transit one zodiac sign. In 24 months, Jupiter covers two signs — enough to activate two different houses in your chart and create at least one (often two) double transit configurations with Saturn. This means the 24-month scan captures a complete Jupiter transit cycle and provides a comprehensive view of the medium-term planetary landscape affecting your chart.

Saturn, moving at roughly half Jupiter's speed, will transit about one sign in 24 months. The nodes (Rahu/Ketu) will move roughly one sign backward. Together, these movements create a rich tapestry of transits that the scanner decomposes into actionable windows.

Shorter scans (6-12 months) miss important windows that are just beyond the horizon. Longer scans (3-5 years) become noisy because prediction confidence decreases with temporal distance. Twenty-four months is the sweet spot: far enough to plan, close enough to act.

How to Use the Scanner

The forward scanner is designed for decision support. When you face a major decision — starting a business, accepting a job, moving cities, getting married, making a large investment — check the scanner for relevant windows.

If the scanner shows a high-confidence career window in Q4 2026, and you are considering a job change, the timing alignment adds one more data point to your decision framework. If the scanner shows no significant career transits until mid-2027, you might decide to prepare and wait rather than force a move during a quiet period.

The scanner does not replace judgment. It informs it. The best decisions are made when you combine personal readiness, market conditions, and planetary timing into a coherent picture. The forward scanner provides the third leg of that tripod.
